Where We Work

Our Primary Operating Region. Ready to Mobilize Beyond It.

Headquartered in West Virginia, EMC's primary operating region is West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Virginia and South Carolina — including Columbia, SC. Across this region we self-perform the full range of civil and site-work scopes. Additional markets are served based on project scope, operational capacity and strategic opportunities.

Primary Operating Region

Our Primary Operating Region

West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Virginia and South Carolina make up our primary operating region — anchored by our West Virginia headquarters and now including Columbia, SC. These are the markets where we respond fastest and self-perform excavation, utilities, grading, drainage, concrete and asphalt from start to finish.

From the Kanawha Valley around Charleston and the river cities of Huntington and Ashland, to Columbus and Cincinnati to the north, we know the terrain, the soils, the permitting environment and the utility owners. That local knowledge helps us plan realistic schedules and solve site problems quickly.

Our home state — Charleston, Huntington, the Kanawha and Teays valleys, and communities across the region.

Additional Markets

Mobilizing Across the Mid-Atlantic & Southeast

Beyond our primary operating region, EMC takes on qualifying projects across a broader multi-state footprint. These are additional markets we mobilize into based on project scope, operational capacity and strategic opportunities.

North Carolina

Southeast coverage for larger site-work and utility packages.

Georgia

Excavation, grading and utility work on projects that fit our schedule.

Florida

Select site-work packages within our expanded service footprint.

Alabama

Civil construction scopes for qualifying commercial and industrial work.

Your Location?

Not sure if we cover your area? Ask us — we mobilize for the right project.

Project acceptance in additional markets outside our primary operating region depends on scope, size, scheduling, mobilization requirements and contract terms. Larger and longer-duration projects are generally better candidates for travel outside our primary operating region.

Working Outside the Core Region

What Determines Where We Mobilize

We want every project we take on to be delivered well. A few factors help us decide when work beyond our primary operating region is the right fit.

Scope & Size

Larger, self-perform-heavy site packages travel better than small, short scopes.

Schedule

Duration and timing must fit our crews' availability and mobilization windows.

Mobilization

Travel distance, equipment moves and logistics factor into feasibility and cost.

Contract Requirements

Licensing, bonding, prevailing wage and other requirements are confirmed up front.

Project Fit

Work that matches our divisions and strengths is where we deliver the most value.

Just Ask

The fastest way to know is to call. We will give you a straight answer.
