Asphalt Paving

Asphalt Paving, Reconstruction & Maintenance

EMC builds new pavement over properly prepared and compacted base, reconstructs failed pavement down to the subgrade, and keeps good pavement in service with milling, patching, sealcoating, crack sealing, striping and markings.

Paving Process

How a Mat Goes Down

Lasting pavement is a system, not just a surface. What sits under the mat — and how each lift is placed and rolled — decides how long it holds up.

Subgrade & Base Prep

Subgrade is shaped and aggregate base is placed and compacted to line and grade.

Tack Coat

A bonding tack coat is applied so new asphalt adheres to the surface beneath it.

Binder Course

The structural binder lift is placed to carry load and true up the profile.

Surface Course

The finish wearing course is paved for the final riding surface and drainage.

Rolling & Compaction

Rollers compact each lift to lock in density, smoothness and durability.

Maintenance vs. Reconstruction

Match the Treatment to the Pavement

Not every lot needs a full rebuild — and not every problem can be sealed over. We help owners choose the treatment that fits the condition and the budget.

Maintenance & Preservation

Protect sound pavement and extend its service life before failures spread.

  • Sealcoating
  • Crack sealing
  • Patching & pothole repair
  • Milling & overlays

Reconstruction

When the base is gone and overlays won't hold, rebuild pavement from the subgrade up.

  • Full-depth removal
  • Base repair
  • Regrade & recompact
  • Repave from subgrade up

Grade, Drainage & Longevity

What Makes Pavement Last

Because we self-perform the grading and base beneath, the pavement we place starts on a foundation we can stand behind. A properly prepared and compacted subgrade carries the load; correct falls and drainage keep water off and out of the base; and thorough compaction locks in the density that resists rutting and cracking.

  • Prepared, compacted subgrade
  • Aggregate base to line & grade
  • Positive drainage & correct falls
  • Full compaction of every lift

Pave it, rebuild it, or keep it lasting.
